Warriors forward Marcus Derrickson seized the opportunity afforded by this blowout. The rookie from Georgetown played a full 12 minutes and shot 50 percent from the field, including 1-4 from 3-point land.

Here are his highlights, again thanks to the Warriors’ Twitter account.

Derrickson is 6-foot-7 and 249 pounds and his shooting motion looks smooth and natural. He shot 46.5 percent from 3-point distance in college a season ago, according to Casual Hoya. He left college early and wasn’t drafted, but he’s in an enviable position now in Golden State.

Plus, he hails from Washington D.C. like Durant and point guard Quinn Cook. Mostly, he’s an intriguing player to keep an eye on as the Warriors try to keep their dynasty going with highly paid superstars and a bevy of less expensive and often younger options like Derrickson.
