There’s been a shift toward veteran players for the Warriors this summer, highlighted by the acquisition of guard Chris Paul. Golden State still has some youth on the roster though, led by forward Jonathan Kuminga.

In case we needed a reminder of Kuminga’s potential, he provided one at The CrawsOver Pro-Am Basketball League in Seattle. Here are some highlights of Kuminga’s performance, provided by the NBA’s official Twitter account.

Even against low-level professional and amateur competition, 60 points is impressive for JK.

This will be year three for Kuminga, and he’ll be counted on to play defense and play an athletic role on a highly-skilled Warriors squad, led of course by the Big 3, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. After the Warriors traded guard Jordan Poole for Paul, it’s expected that Paul’s supreme point guard skills will help Kuminga play his role effectively as a potent option off the bench.

The Warriors traded nearly all their young players, but I expect Kuminga and fellow third-year player Moses Moody to have breakout seasons. We’ll just have to wait and see though. Thankfully, the season is quickly approaching.
