Watch: 49ers DE Nick Bosa tests his repaired ACL in workout videos

I’m not a doctor, but it appears 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa is well ahead of schedule regarding his torn ACL from last season.

He tore that ever important ligament in his left knee during Week 2 in 2020, and according to workout videos posted on his official Twitter and Instagram accounts (yes, his handle is @nbmallerbear), his recovery is way ahead of schedule.

Here’s Bosa running some agility drills. His ACL not withstanding, dude is a beast.

A day earlier, Bosa posted the video below. It’s geared more toward straight-line speed, but the former No. 2 overall pick in the draft clearly isn’t holding back.

The 49ers are counting on Bosa to stay healthy in 2021, especially with so many other moving parts on the team, including at quarterback. The Ohio State product played all 16 games in 2019 and recorded nine sacks. He had a whale of a postseason that year, too.

Bosa has a bit of history with injuries throughout his career, notably when he was preparing for the NFL Draft. While it’s fantastic to see him slay these recovery workouts, the 49ers’ hope is that he can avoid this kind of work in the future and play in more games.
