The Golden State Warriors are finally hitting a winning grove as the regular season winds down and teams battle for playoff positioning, so it’s no surprise that forward Draymond Green is setting career marks along the way.
As Green goes, so go the Warriors — along with superstar guard Stephen Curry, of course. Green, sometimes called the heart and soul of the team, had a career best 19 assists against the Nuggets last week and followed that performance with 13 dimes in Golden State’s victory against the Kings on Sunday.
It was the most assists Green has had in a two-game stretch in his career thus far. Check out each hand-wrapped gift to his teammates below, courtesy of the Warriors official Twitter account.
Okay, so maybe some of those weren’t hand-wrapped, notably a few passes to guard Kelly Oubre Jr. late in the Kings game. But Green’s passing ability is well established. He’s now fourth in the NBA in assists per game with 8.9 per contest, which was a surprise for him on Sunday.
Green has been especially locked in lately, pairing brilliantly with Curry to lead the Warriors to one game above the .500 mark for the first time in awhile. If he keeps dropping dimes as he has been, Golden State could very well keep climbing up the standings.
