Golden State Warriors

Fan reactions: Warriors don’t practice for a week, get blown out by Mavericks

In a big game against the Mavericks, the Golden State Warriors fell way short, losing by a landslide, 133-103. It was ugly from the start, when the Warriors got stuck at 12 points for what seemed like an eternity.

Okay, it was for almost 10 minutes, and the Warriors were outscored 28-0 in that span.

Here’s visual evidence of the massacre on the court at Chase Center, starring superstar guard Stephen Curry.

Draymond Green got two fouls early (after he turned it over on the first possession of the game) and a disjointed rotation couldn’t get Curry going. Watching Golden State go scoreless that long with Curry on the court –for the last 8:40 of the first quarter — was simply jaw-dropping.

Warriors fans have plenty to be upset about. A tweet from the San Francisco Chronicle’s Connor Letourneau really caught their ire, however. Tweeted an hour and a half before tipoff, Letourneau quoted coach Steve Kerr regarding the Warriors’ lack of practice lately.

Yep, we’re talking about practice, to quote the great Allen Iverson.

That’s not the best look for coach Kerr. The Mavericks game was huge for Golden State. If the Warriors had any chance of crawling out of the play-in portion of the playoffs, they had to win this game. Perhaps a practice beforehand would have helped.

Fans sounded off via Twitter. Here’s a portion of what they had to say.

And postgame, here’s Kerr taking the blame.
