Different series, same Ramón Laureano. The Oakland Athletics’ center fielder did it again on Monday, smashing the deciding home run in the A’s 5-4 win against the Blue Jays.
He was just a day removed from playing hero in the A’s win against the Orioles on Sunday, with an incredible catch followed by his game-winning trip around the bases.
But Sunday’s home run was built different. Look how far it flies to left field in the Oakland Coliseum.
Daaaaang. That was a shot. Laureano definitely did not have a case of the “Mondays,” or feel content after his performance the previous day. Per MLB Media’s Martin Gallegos, the ball traveled 432 feet.
The win pushed the Athletics into first place in the American League West, a full two games ahead of the Houston Astros. Three games with the Blue Jays remain, and the A’s will look to win this series after losing two of three to the Orioles.
