There’s nothing quite like summertime Pro-Am basketball. Teams comprised of mostly low-level professionals and collegiate players compete in a fan-friendly environment and once in a while, a big dog from the NBA shows up and balls out.
Warriors guard Jordan Poole joined the summertime tradition and blessed the Pacific Northwest with his NBA skills by appearing in the CrawsOver, a Pro-Am league based in Seattle and directed by former NBA star Jamal Crawford.
Check out the highlights below, courtesy of Home Team Hoops. The fans in attendance got an NBA-worthy performance without having to line up outside an NBA arena, and that’s what summertime hoops are all about.
And thankfully for the Warriors, Poole clearly picked up right where his second year in the NBA left off. Spinning his wheels as a rookie, Poole settled down and found his groove a season ago and is now a concrete part of Golden State’s plans moving forward.
With superstar guard Stephen Curry returning from an MVP-type season and All-Star guard Klay Thompson slated to return from injury, Poole can still develop slowly with what figures to be a reserve role. But eventually, he could be a star for Golden State. He’s progressing that efficiently. For now, however, it’s summertime and the living’s easy, especially for the fans that were lucky enough to watch this performance up close and personal.
Bonus highlight: Those long-distance shots from Poole deserve another angle. Check out one of his moon-shots here thanks to Ball is Life.
