Andrew Wiggins is in ‘love’ with winning and the Golden State Warriors

A large number of NBA observers had given up on former No.1 pick in the NBA Draft, forward Andrew Wiggins. But not the Golden State Warriors.

And now, Wiggins is showing love to the team that took a chance on him — with both his word and his play on the court. After he hit a career-high eight 3-pointers in a Warriors win against the Magic on Monday, Wiggins said something he could have rarely said with his last team, the Timberwolves.

“I love winning.”

Yep, Wiggins is in love with winning and the Golden State Warriors. And why wouldn’t he be smitten with his new employer and teammates? The Warriors are 21-4 after a win against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday, with Wiggins playing a key role. He’s having a career-year from 3-point land too, with his percentage from beyond the arch rising above 40 percent after his effort on Monday.

Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently called his team’s trade for Wiggins one of the best deals he’s ever made, but few predicted Wiggins would thrive as he has. The Warriors’ culture and dynamic style of play have a way of bringing out every player’s best.

Another thing nobody predicted: Wiggins is in love with Golden State, and it’s a beautiful thing to see.
